– from the deepest gong to the highest bell
Join an interactive sound and movement journey inspired by the unique soundscape of Indonesian gamelan instruments. ImproDans Trondheim and SiTron ensemble create an open space for and with the audience and offer a three-hour interactive performance experience open for everyone. Come and go as you wish and participate as much as you like.
Alternating between movement and stillness and sound and silence, Altered States refers to the source of inspiration and home base of the gamelan instruments in Indonesia as well as the journey of the sound traveling from Bali to Trondheim. Experience the enormous sonic range from the deepest gong to the highest bell by listening, watching, or being moved by the music and joining the movement improvisation.
This is the first collaboration between ImproDans Trondheim and SiTron and an initiative by dance artist Anna Thu Schmidt and musician Espen Aalberg who both share a passion and fascination for Indonesian art.
The ImproDans Ensemble is led by Anna Thu Schmidt in collaboration with dance artists Nina Wollny and Hwa Wei-An. Musician Espen Aalberg will be accompanied by the SiTron ensemble.
