Residence week 9 / 2024

Céline Meillaud is back in residence with the project SKYENE (formerly FEEL). This will be a performance for children aged 0 – 3 years who visit the wonderful world of the baby cloud Cumulus who lives with his mother in the sky. How does MamaCloud look like? Who are Cumulus’ friends? How do clouds react to different seasons? What does a cloud flower smell like? What is it like to be a baby cloud floating, swirling, playing and dancing in the sky?

Visual description: Color photograph of a small child sitting on the floor with their back turned. The face is turned towards a light wall where a large white textile hangs, like a curtain. Rays of light in the colors blue, green and pink appear on the textile and the wall next to it. In the area around the child are large, wrinkled formations of white textile or paper. At the very front of the picture we can see some light pink tulle sticking up and into the picture.

Through this dance theater performance, I want to offer a safe place, open for interaction and play, where children can use all their senses within a framework full of tenderness and poetry. Each season should invite new stimuli in the form of sound, sight, touch and/or smell. Autumn with rain and storms, winter with snow and ice, spring with sunshine, flowers and insects. And finally, summer will invite us to celebrate, dance, let go and play with all the materials that surround us. SKYENE will be a surprising and interactive sensory journey.
