Treffpunkt – Et cruisingarkiv – Corentin JPM Leven & Ulf Nilseng (NO)

In the performance “Treffpunkt – et cruisingarkiv” (a Cruising Archive), the bodies of performing artists Ulf Nilseng and Corentin JPM Leven become living archives and storytellers of the history surrounding “cruising” and sex between men in Ravnkloa, which took place long before and after the decriminalization of homosexuality in 1972.

Historically, cruising has played an important role for men seeking sex with other men, particularly in relation to prevention during the HIV/AIDS crisis in the 1980s and 90s. With the character Lola as guide the audience will through dance, text, song and music gain insight into various stories intertwining sexual liberation, HIV/AIDS, and unknown aspects of Ravnkloa and Trondheim.

The performance has been developed by Nilseng and Leven in connection with the exhibition PARADE, curated by Håkon Lillegraven and Bjørn Hatterud.
