Velkommen til en opplevelse i krysningspunktet mellom billedkunst og bevegelse med Jasper Siverts i Kunsthall Trondheim

I samarbeid med DansiT og Kunsthall Trondheim presenterer Nasjonalmuseet verket Some things last a long time, framført av Jasper Siverts sammen med de fire Trondheimsbaserte dansekunstnerne: Nina Wollny, Marie Rechsteiner, Valentina Martínez Mariscal og Karen Hammervik Flø. Siverts er en av kunstnerne som deltar i Nasjonalmuseets åpningsutstilling Jeg kaller det kunst. I jakten på ny kunst til utstillingen, reiste Nasjonalmuseet land og strand rundt. Over tusen kunstnere søkte om å få bli med. Valget falt på nærmere 150 kunstnere.

I Some things last a long time tar Jasper Siverts utgangspunkt i kunstnerne som ble valgt ut, og gjenskaper verkene som kom med i utstillingen. Gjennom bevegelse og billedkunst vil han utforske grensene mellom det som er innenfor og det som er utelatt i utstillingen.

Kan vi ha minner av ting som ikke har skjedd ennå? Kan vi se for oss Jeg kaller det kunst med de utvalgte verkene?

Arrangementet er gratis og åpent for alle.

Samtale

Etter fremførelsen, kl. 17.15–18.15, inviterer vi til samtale mellom kunstner Jasper Siverts, danser Valentina Martínez Mariscal, kurator ved Nasjonalmuseet, Lisa Bernhoft-Sjødin og kurator ved Kunsthall Trondheim, Carl Martin Faurby. Samtalen åpner opp for en diskusjon rundt alt det publikum skulle lure på, enten om det er om Jasper Siverts’ verk, det nye Nasjonalmuseet eller annet i kunstverden.

Om Jasper Siverts

Kunstner Jasper Siverts (f. 2000) kommer fra Oslo og jobber med koreografi innenfor en billedkunst-kontekst. Han tar i bruk bevegelse, handlinger og film for å stille spørsmål ved forestillinger. I utstillingene «kroppsliggjør» han ofte allerede eksisterende kunstobjekter. Jasper Siverts opptreden i Trondheim gir et innblikk i hva han vil presentere når utstillingen Jeg kaller det kunst  åpner i 2021. Om SIDESPRANG

SIDESPRANG er en arrangementsserie som finner sted i 2020–21 og er første del av Nasjonalmuseets åpningsutstilling Jeg kaller det kunst. Fram til det nye museumsbygget står klart og utstillingen åpner i 2021, vil Nasjonalmuseet ta med seg kunstnere fra utstillingen til by og bygd i Norge og vise fram alt fra performance og konserter til samtaler og video. Siverts utstilling er tredje arrangement i høstens SIDESPRANG-program.

Om Jeg kaller det kunst

«Jeg kaller det kunst» er første utstilling som skal fylle hele Lyshallen når det nye Nasjonalmuseet åpner i 2021. Utstillingen blir den største presentasjonen av samtidskunst i Norge noensinne og viser verk av nærmere 150 kunstnere og kunstnergrupper. Verkene spenner fra maleri, foto, skulptur og tekstil, til musikk, video og performance. Men et fellestrekk er at ingen av kunstnerne er kjøpt inn av Nasjonalmuseet fra før. «Jeg kaller det kunst» utforsker hva som er utenfor og innenfor i kunsten, og hvorfor noen kunstverk er på museum og andre ikke.

Welcome to an experience in the intersection between visual art and movement with Jasper Siverts at Kunsthall Trondheim!

In collaboration with DansiT and Kunsthall Trondheim, the National Museum in Norway presents the work Some things last a long time, performed by Jasper Siverts together with four dance artists who are based in Trondheim: Nina Wollny, Marie Rechsteiner, Valentina Martínez Mariscal and Karen Hammervik Flø. Siverts are one of the participating artists in the National Museum’s inaugural exhibition Jeg kaller det kunst [I call it art]. In the search for new art for the exhibition, the National Museum travelled around the country. Over one thousand artists applied to participate. Almost 150 artists were chosen.

Jasper Siverts’s point of departure in Some things last a long time is the artists that were chosen, and he will recreate the artworks that will be presented in the inaugural exhibition. Through movement and visual art, he will explore the boundaries between what is within and what is left out of the exhibition.

Can we have memories of things that have not yet happened? Can we imagine Jeg kaller det kunst with the selected works?

The event is free and open for all.

Jasper Siverts
The artist Jasper Siverts (b. 2000) is from Oslo and works with choreography within the context of visual arts. He uses movement, action and film to ask questions regarding performance. I exhibitions he often embodies already existing art objects. The event image is from Siverts’ exhibition Solo Show. His performance in Trondheim gives an insight into what he will present in the exhibition Jeg kaller det kunst opens in 2021.

SIDESPRANG
SIDESPRANG [SIDESTEP] is an event series take takes place in 2020-21 and is a part of the National Museum’s inaugural exhibition Jeg kaller det kunst. Until the new museum building is ready and the exhibition opens in 2021, the National Museum will bring exhibition’s artists to cities and towns of Norway and show everything from events and concerts to talks and videos. Jasper Siverts’ exhibition is the third event in this autumn’s SIDESPRANG program.

The exhibition Jeg kaller det kunst
Jeg kaller det kunst is the inaugural exhibition that will fill the Light Hall when the new National Museum opens in 2021. The exhibition will be the largest presentation of contemporary art in Norway ever and will show works by almost 150 artists and artist groups. The works range from painting and textile, to music, video and performance, but a common feature is that none of the artists are in the National Museum’s collections. Jeg kaller det kunst explores what is placed on the outside and inside the boundaries of art, and why some art works are in the museum and others not.
