One Theme on a Beautiful Thing – Christopher Arouni (NO)

I samarbeid med Olavshallen har DansiT – Senter for dansekunst i Sør-Trøndelag denne høsten gleden av å presentere nok en splitter ny norsk danseforestilling.

Koreograf Christopher Arouni har laget soloforestillingen One Theme on a Beautiful Thing for Jon Filip Fahlstrøm fra Levanger, som ser nærmere på hvordan mennesker kan anvende sorgprosesser som noe funksjonelt og som en spire til håp.

Ved å skape et soloritual av spesifikke handlinger og bevegelser, forsøker forestillingen å gjøre sorgprosesser til et verktøy, heller enn en tilstand. Christopher Arouni og Jon Filip Fahlstrøm har samarbeidet tett siden 2006 og har en felles interesse for den fysiske bevegelsens egenart. De har tidligere arbeidet med ledende kompanier som Carte Blanche, Island Dance Company, Ingun Bjørnsgaard Prosjekt, zero visibility corp. og Eastman/Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Denne gangen samarbeider de bl.a. også med den kjente musikeren og komponisten Bergmund Waal Skaslien fra Trondheim.

One Theme on a Beautiful Thing hadde urpremiére på Bærum Kulturhus i april, og ble en vakker opplevelse preget av poetisk kraft og styrke. Jon Filip Fahlstrøm danser også i The Guest av zero visibility corp. som gjestet Olavshallen i oktober. Together with Olavshallen, DansiT – Senter for dansekunst i Sør-Trøndelag is pleased to present another brand new Norwegian dance performance this autumn.

The choreographer Christopher Arouni has made this solo performance especially for the dance artist Jon Filip Fahlstrøm, that researches on how a human being can make functional use of grief processes.

By creating a solo ritual through specific actions and movements, this performance attempts to utilize grief processes as a tool, rather than letting it become a state of being. Christopher Arouni and Jon Filip Fahlstrøm have been artisticly collaborating since 2006, and share a joint keen interest within the specific characteristics of physical movement. Both also have a long standing career as dancers with leading companies such as Carte Blanche, Iceland Dance Company, Ingun Bjørnsgaard Project, zero visibility corp. and Eastman/Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Now they also collaborate with the well known musician and composer Bergmund Waal Skaslien from Trondheim.

One Theme on a Beautiful Thing premiered at Bærum Kulturhus in April, and was described as a beautiful experience characterized by poetic power and strength. Jon Filip Fahlstrøm also dances in The Guest by zero visibility corp. that visits Olavshallen in October.
