Studiovisning: Staging Ages

H2DANCE avslutter sin residens på DansiT med å vise oss smakebiter fra sin kommende forestilling Staging Ages!

I Staging Ages samarbeider kompaniet med 5 dansere i alderen 9 – 65 år. Den ferdige forestillingen vil ligge i grenselandet mellom dans, teater og performance, der møtene mellom aktørene/generasjonene og det uforutsigbare vil stå i sentrum. Høydepunkter og nedturer vil iscenesettes gjennom møter mellom generasjonene hvor forståelse og misforståelse, lek og alvor vil kræsje inn i hverandre. Verdighet, forventninger, fordommer, normer, tabuer, idealer og behov, samt positive og negative aspekter ved de forskjellige aldersgruppene vil undersøkes i prosessen og være en del av forestillingen. Hvordan presenterer vi oss i samsvar med vår aldersgruppe, og hvordan “får vi lov» til å uttrykke oss? Når slutter vi å være barn eller føle oss unge?

About H2DANCE

H2DANCE is choreographer/performer duo Hanna Gillgren (Sweden) and Heidi Rustgaard (Norway), working between UK, Norway and Sweden. Their work sits in between performance and dance and can be characterized as interdisciplinary, often taking a humorous approach to serious subject matters.

Some recurring themes in the company’s choreographies are group behaviour, conformity, power balance and manipulation. The notion of the group versus the individual, the public and the private is investigated through mediums such as movement, voice and video performed in and outside of the black box. The work examines the performer audience relationship, aiming to communicate directly with the audience, engaging in thoughts around human existence in contemporary society. The choreography stems from the performers reactions and responses to systems, rules and game structures. The work of H2DANCE is often juxtaposing humour with darkness, surface with underlying tension, perhaps not immediately recognisable to the audience, however revealing itself throughout the performance.
