Stuido sharing: The Ambassador

DansiT celebrates Svartlamodagen by inviting all those interested to a small viewing of Katarina Eriksson’s projekt The Ambassador! The performance starts at 1pm and is followed by a short conversation between Eriksson and the audience.

The Ambassador is a dance solo and an enthusiastic «show-and-tell» about Hoppalappa – an hour-long improvised performance that experiments wildly with the intersection between traditional folk art and contemporary performance culture, and turn phenomena like identity, ethnic belonging, and pride, up-side-down and in-side-out.

Katarina Eriksson riffs on the fantasy of being the ambassador of «Cranio Sacria». She dances passionately to music by experimental composer Cheryl Leonard for cultural cross-pollination, performs a ritual/surgery for total presence, and invites everyone to be part of her (con)temporary village.
