Welcome to DansiT Autumn 2026

Iranian choreographer Ehsan Hemat visits DansiT this autumn with the performance Everything brings us back to the body. The title is taken from Achille Mbembe’s essay The Universal Right to Breathe, one of the sources of inspiration for Hemat’s artistic work.

For me, this title frames the entire DansiT programme this autumn. From Hemat’s exploration of the human and non-human as equal partners, to Inés Belli’s speculative approach to the body’s capacity for form and expression, Un-Magritt Nordseth’s focus on the value of experiential knowledge in the ageing body, Solveig Styve Holte’s focus on the vulnerable “resting living” body, and Nela Kornetova’s deep dive into the body’s final phase – a mystical meditation on death.

In the children’s performance Oil-Dino-Du, we are invited into a landscape of oil, inheritance, and ghosts. In Animulius, we experience the impossible becoming possible and the possible becoming Animulis. And in Splash!, the very youngest are invited on a sensory journey. Everything brings us back to the body.

With this, DansiT invites both children and adults to moments of grounding together this autumn, in both our own bodies and in relation to one another.
