Week 40 / 2023

In connection with her ongoing project Psychedelic cave, choreographer and dancer Mia Habib has read, talked about and traveled to various caves in Norway. Straight from the old caves at Leka, she makes the trip to Trondheim to continue her cave research. With her is Natanya Kjølås, a Norwegian-Chilean dancer based in Oslo, and scenographer Liam Alfazari. Mia is interested in the cave as a new actualized refuge, community space and place for magical rituals.

In Northern Trøndelag you will find the largest collection of cave paintings in Norway and probably in the whole of Northern Europe. Scientists have stated that the cave paintings on this stretch of coast testify that the caves have not been used as residences, but as ritual sites where our distant ancestors may have used the cave and its darkness to make contact with other worlds.

CAVE RAVE at HAVET: To end the residency, DansiT, Mia Habib Productions and HAVET Arena invite you to a DansiT-salong: CAVE RAVE on Saturday 7th of October. Take part in an exciting conversation about the cave, and dance sweaty and happy to cavey tunes directed by Spillelisterytter Finn Krisp (Arnfinn Killingtveit).

Psychedelic cave is planned to be completed as a performance during spring 2025.
