Residens uke 15 & 16 / 2026

Heine Avdal og Yukiko Shinozaki er tilbake i Trondheim – denne gangen i residens ved DansiT / Svartlamon for å jobbe med prosjektet The fold of a Landscape. Om prosjektet forteller de:

The fold of a Landscape emerges from an ongoing exploration of folding in and folding
out—an approach that shapes how bodies move, are positioned, and relate within space.
The piece invites a collective moment of reflection, opening up different ways of coming
together: as a group, as individuals, or through shared coexistence. In the absence of familiar
habits and fixed structures, the performance asks what brings us together.

In this project, Avdal and Shinozaki approach the body, movement, and both internal and
external spaces as a dynamic landscape—one that can be bent, folded, and unfolded.

Folding appears as a transformative action: a body, an object, a space, a moment, a light, or
a sound may fold into, onto, or around something else. These actions create a continuous
system of folds and unfolds that extend across a room or landscape. Unfolding is not the
opposite of folding, but a continuation—one fold leading to another.

The performance unfolds through shifting relationships between space and movement,
offering changing situations rather than a fixed narrative. Stability and uncertainty exist side
by side. Instead of relying only on order and repetition, the work allows difference and
ambiguity to shape how connections form.
