Residence week 34 / 2024

Week 33 Ingrid Haakstad, Geir Hytten and Gry Kipperberg are in residence to work on the performance Dancing!

Dancing was initiated by the renowned American choreographer Deborah Hay. She has invited the three Oslo-based dancers to form and perform a trio, in this new work to be premiered in 2025.

English: Four people stand next to each other, holding each other over the shoulder. They look into the camera and smile. The people in the picture (from left) are the dancers Geir Hytten, Gry Kipperberg, Ingrid Haakstad and choreographer Deborah Hay.

The project is conceived by the choreographer as an opportunity to investigate and combine the practical magic of the “trio”, with support and input from three artists whose dance and practice have deeply touched her. Hay has assembled the trio because of their unique differences and backgrounds, and how she imagines their collective contribution to this process. The new work is based on previous solo scores, but is transferred and guided from Hay’s current perspective on dance, with room to incorporate the dancers’ input over time.

The artists invite you to a studio show at DansiT / Svartlamon on Friday 23rd of August at 13:00.
Please let producer Betty know by email: betty@dansit.no or phone: 92435225 if you are coming!
