For over 20 years, Danseteateret has been one of DansiT’s proudest achievements – a dance company with no upper age limit.
Margit Ryum, 90, has been dancing with the company since it started. The ensemble consists of senior dancers aged 60–90, working with improvisation, composition, and choreography, and regularly collaborating with guest choreographers and dance artists.
“It means so much to come here and be inspired by skilled choreographers and fellow dancers,” Margit says.
“Freedom. Absolute freedom.”
Every Friday, Margit joins rehearsals at ISAK, a weekly highlight she looks forward to.
Danseteateret explores contemporary dance in a way that is accessible and stimulating, regardless of age or experience, offering both personal growth and artistic collaboration.
“Being part of the community around Rosendal Theatre broadens our horizons – about dance and theatre in the widest sense,” Margit explains.
