Diversity in the Performing Arts
At the seminar “From Kindergarten to Working Life”, representatives from the education and arts and culture sectors came together to discuss how more children and young people with disabilities can participate in the arts, from childhood through to working life.
The discussions highlighted both challenges and opportunities for increasing diversity in the performing arts.
“I am so pleased that over the past three years we have held seminars during Heddadagene focusing on performing artists with disabilities. It is incredibly important that we come together to raise these issues, discuss them, and learn which barriers we need to break down and which doors we need to open in order to truly become an inclusive field and society,” says Arnhild Staal Pettersen, Artistic and Managing Director of DansiT.

Organizers: The Actors and Dancers Alliance, Dansens Hus (Oslo), DansiT, and the Norwegian Theatre and Orchestra Association (NTO).
