About Summer course in Trondheim
Summer course in Trondheim was established in 2011 by Silje Bævre Lian and Lene Brustad Melhus in collaboration with DansiT. The initiative is now being continued by Marte Brustad Melhus.
About the teachers

Ragnhild Kolstad is a trained dance artist with a specialization in jazz at Kristiania (formerly the Norwegian Dance Academy). She has also studied a one-year program in dance art at Spin Off Forstudium. She now works as a dance teacher at Bajazz dance studio and as a dance artist in various projects.
About the classes, Ragnhild says: “My classes are structured like a typical jazz class, where we warm up, work on technical principles, walk across the floor, and finally learn a choreography”

Marte Brustad Melhus is educated at the Norwegian Academy of Dance (BA) and the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (MA and PPU), and has worked as a performing dancer and educator based in Oslo in recent years. She has taught contemporary dance at Lillestrøm High School and the Norwegian Academy of Dance, in addition to having broad experience with different genres, levels and age groups from a number of evening schools. In her own artistic work, Marte is concerned with the concrete physical work, and she loves acrobatics, floor work and partnering.
About the classes, Marte says: “In my classes, I always try to combine playfulness, exploration and curiosity with good and thorough physical training. We do a guided warm-up, before we spend a lot of time moving across the floor with various technical exercises, improvisational tasks and complex sequences. Finally, I set aside a lot of time to work on a combination. Sometimes I do excerpts from performances and other times we work on a shorter class combination with a focus on integrating the movements we have practiced in class.”
