Lecture: Resistance = Strength
with Adil Khan
“Resilience = Strength ” is a powerful and personal talk about mental health, the pressure to perform, social exclusion, and the inner dialogue that shapes how we see ourselves. Drawing on his own experiences with bullying, racism, anxiety, and depression, Adil Khan shares his journey from darkness to resilience through self-awareness, resilience, and taking ownership of one’s own life.
Over the past ten years, Adil has worked full-time as a mental health speaker, including for Mental Health Norway, and has given around 500 talks to young people, schools, and healthcare professionals. He is known for making taboo topics more accessible and giving voice to thoughts and feelings that many struggle to express.
Adil Khan is an award-winning dancer, actor, and host known for his appearances on shows such as So You Think You Can Dance, Norske Talenter, and NRK’s Adil’s Secret Dancers. He has played leading roles on Norwegian theater and TV stages and has received several nominations for his work in film, TV, and theater.
After a meteoric rise to fame, Adil chose to step away from the spotlight. He distanced himself from celebrity culture early on and wanted to explore his inner life so he could help others facing mental health challenges. The experiences from this journey form the basis for the talk and the message he shares today.
