Konger

In Konger, choreographer Un-Magritt Nordseth challenges stereotypes about aging and highlights the value of life experience. Five male dancers, older than those typically seen on stage, meet the audience. How do they dance, and what do they bring to the work?

The movement is both vulnerable and playful, shifting between humor and gentle melancholy. Together, the dancers create a nuanced portrait of aging. Although aging is the most natural process in the world, growing older can be challenging – especially in a profession where the body is the artist’s primary language. Our perception of aging is often shaped by outward appearance and notions of physical decline.

Konger offers a rare opportunity to see older dancers on stage and opens up new perspectives on the body, age, and expression.

The performance is presented in collaboration with Dansenett Norge.
