Epic Desire Monumental Longing
by Inés Belli
A woman stands alone on stage – accompanied only by four gigantic, woven textile sculptures stretching down from the ceiling. She begins to dance. Her movements grow larger and larger – out of her emerges an entire world.
Epic Desire, Monumental Longing is a large-scale solo performance. The work seeks the monumental within the individual – the desires, longing, force, and dreams we all carry within us.
The set design, created by visual artist Aurora Passero, and the costume design by Alva Brosten open a space for the dancer to unfold freely. Minimalist choreography meets maximalist expression. One body sets everything in motion, and what begins as something intimate grows into something vast and overwhelming.
The music, composed by Hanne Hukkelberg, moves between pop and a cathedral-like soundscape, underscoring the performance’s interplay between the intimate and the monumental.
Join us for Epic Desire, Monumental Longing – an intense performance shaped by desire, mysticism, pop, and drama.
