Your shadow handler om opplevelsen av å ha flere stemmer, av å bli fulgt og våket over av et lag av oss selv med foranderlig form og evnen til å bli usynlig. Forestillingen gir oppmerksomhet til mellomrommene, samholdet, individet og følgesvennen.

Loan Ha og Kristina Gjems har hatt både en kunstnerisk og en personlig utveksling som har pågått i over 10 år og Your shadow er deres første duett sammen. Gjennom deres tidligere samarbeid har det oppstått klare møtepunkter med en felles filosofisk tilnærming til kropp og bevegelse og et felles verdi- og menneskesyn. Denne plattformen som handler om hvordan de relaterer kunsten til livet er viktig for begges arbeidsform, prosess og uttrykk. I tillegg til deres dansekunstneriske erfaringer deler de somatiske praksiser som er viktige kilder til hvordan man opplever kroppens indre liv og ulike systemer i en tilstand av konstant interaksjon.

Den koreografiske prosessen for Your shadow er initiert av Kristina Gjems og tar utgangspunkt i hennes visjon og kunstnerskap. Samtidig preges arbeidet i stor grad av den dialogen, gjensidige inspirasjonen og friksjonen som oppstår i møte mellom kunstnerne. Sammen navigerer de mellom problematisering og tillit, mellom målrettet undersøkelse og åpenhet for det som oppstår i øyeblikket.

Om kunstnerne

Loan Ha er utdannet ved Skolen for Samtidsdans (2000-02) i Oslo og P.A.R.T.S. (2002-06) i Brussel. I perioden 2007-2015 jobbet hun hovedsakelig som medskapende utøver i Impure Company v/ koreograf Hooman Sharifi. Siden 2016 har hun sammen med Ida Gudbrandsen og Rikke Baewert produsert sitt eget arbeid som kunstnerkollektivet SUPERNOVA. Som frilans utøvende dansekunstner har Loan samarbeidet med flere ulike kunstnere i inn- og utlandet deriblant flerårige samarbeid med Dreamscreen prod v/ Kristina Gjems. Loan ble tildelt Statens kunstnerstipend i 2009-2011 og 2015-2018 og har siden 2015 vært ansatt i Skuespiller- & Danseralliansen.

Kristina Gjems er utdannet ved London Contemporary Dance School og har virket som danser og koreograf siden 1984. Hennes arbeider inkluderer både sceniske og stedsspesifikke produksjoner, samt dansefilm. Hun har praktisert og undervist T’ai Chi i mange år, noe som har stor innflytelse på hennes kunstneriske virke. Mye av hennes praksis foregår ute i naturen og opplevelsen av sammenheng mellom kropp, bevegelse, elementer og omgivelser er sterkt tilstede i arbeidet.

Your shadow explores the experience of multiple voices, of being followed and watched over by a layer of ourselves with a shifting form and the ability to appear and disappear. The performance draws attention to the spaces between, the unity, the individual and the companion.

Loan Ha and Kristina Gjems have had an artistic and personal exchange for over 10 years. Your shadow is their first duet. Through their previous collaborations, clear meeting points have emerged with a common philosophical approach to body and movement and shared principles ​​of values ​​and humanity. The way their art relates to life influences their working process and expression. In addition to their dance experience, they share somatic practices that are important sources of experiencing the body’s inner life and different systems in a state of constant interaction.

The choreographic process of Your shadow is initiated by Kristina Gjems, based on her vision and artistry. The work is also largely influenced by the dialogue, mutual inspiration and friction that arise in the meeting between Loan Ha and Kristina Gjems. Together, they navigate between trust and resistance, between targeted investigation and openness to what occurs in the moment.

About the artists
Loan Ha trained at the School of Contemporary Dance (2000-02) in Oslo and P.A.R.T.S. (2002-06) i Brussels. During the period 2007-2015 she worked mainly as a co-creative practitioner in Impure Company v / choreographer Hooman Sharifi. Since 2016, together with Ida Gudbrandsen and Rikke Baewert, she has produced her own work as the artist collective SUPERNOVA. As a freelance performing dance artist, Loan has collaborated with several different artists at home and abroad, including a collaboration over many years  with Dreamscreen prod by Kristina Gjems. Loan was awarded the State Artist Scholarship in 2009-2011 and 2015-2018 and has been employed in Actors & amp; Dancer Alliance.

Kristina Gjems trained at London Contemporary Dance School and has worked as a dancer and choreographer since 1984. Her work includes both stage and site-specific productions, as well as dance films. She has been practicing and teaching T’ai Chi for many years, which has a great influence on her artistic work. Much of her practice takes place outdoors and the experience of the connection between body, movement, elements and surroundings is strongly present in her work.
