What is it like to experience dance without seeing?

We live in a world that focuses heavily on our dominant sense: sight.

UNFOLD is a one-on-one sensory journey between the city and the fjord that offers alternative ways to experience and be in touch with the world around us. The performance focuses on encounters through touch and movement, and you decide how actively you want to participate.

Dance artists Karoline Ellingsen Wheeler and Anna Thu Schmidt want to make dance more accessible by creating an interactive performance experience for people with partial or total vision impairment or who are blindfolded. The artists want to offer a safe experience where the audience can explore the area at Brattørkaia through their senses and let their imagination unfold.

To participate, you must register. Blind and visually impaired people will be given priority. Sighted participants will be assigned blindfolds. Blindfolds are optional for visually impaired people with little visual orientation.
