The performers have a relaxed attitude toward movement and sounds from the audience. Audience members may enter and exit the venue as they please, and latecomers are welcome.
Welcome to the premiere of Stillhet og mørke – EKKO, a dance performance that embodies the phenomenon of silence in relation to public space. The dancers explore the tension between silence and noise, creating poetic images of bodies in stillness and in motion.
The choreographic work is inspired by the findings of silence researcher Olga V. Lehmann, who shows that there is no such thing as pure silence. Silence is a space in-between, and thus mutually dependent on, noise, sounds, movements, and language. What can we find in this space in-betweens?
Stillhet og mørke – EKKO is created in collaboration with and performed by Danselaboratoriet and Danseteateret, and will premiere at the Multiplié Dance Festival 2025. The performance has grown out of the project, Stillhet og mørke, originally developed by the choreographic duo Winsnes/Ålskog.
The project aims to make dance accessible to the casual passerby, with free outdoor performances in busy public spaces. The performance is suitable for curious passersby of all ages.
