This performance is shown at Det norske teatret during Heddadagene 2025.
Collective power in motion
In a society dominated by strict ideals related to body image, My Body My Home is an invitation to see the beauty in every individual. Here, the performance highlights the strength in the dancers’ bodies, ages and differences. On stage, there is space and room for everyone.
“Everyone can dance, you just have to explore and see what dance can be.”
– Elen Øyen – performer from Danselaboratoriet
This unique work is created in close collaboration between Bergen-based choreographer Daniel Mariblanca and his company 71BODIES – an inclusive dance and performance company that works with and in marginalized groups – and the two Trondheim-based companies Danselaboratoriet (consisting of dancers with and without disabilities) and Danseteateret (senior dancers) – both run by DansiT – Choreographic Center.

71BODIES is a transgender inclusive dance and performance company based in Bergen, Norway. Created by Daniel Mariblanca in 2018, the company continues to naturally evolve in a sustainable way whereby one project inspires the other and the next and so on. A core intention of the company is to work with/in marginalized communities; in particular communities where the body is at the center of the discussion.
Danselaboratoriet and Danseteateret are two Trondheim-based companies that have existed for more than 20 years, consisting of people with different backgrounds, ages and disabilities. The companies explore dance through improvisation, choreography, critical reflection and discussion. Dance is seen as a space for meetings, exploration, meaning-making and expression. Awareness of and active use of diversity in the groups is in focus. Both companies are run by DansiT – Choreographic Center.
