World Dance Day – ImproStunt

DANCE DANCE DANCE 

We are celebrating World Dance Day 2023 with an ImproStunt workshop and performance on Saturday 29. April 2023 kl 17-19 at HAVET. The event is held in English.

The event starts with the ImproStunt workshop that gives an introduction to dance and music improvisation in a site-specific setting. After a collective warm-up we continue with improvisation tasks at the site where we take inspiration from all the elements present in the space.

The workshop is followed by the ImproStunt performance at kl 18 that fills kulturarena HAVET with music and dance. Through a playful approach we explore movements both alone and in the meeting with others to live music and in interaction with the audience. Workshop participants are invited to join the performance together with dance artists Karoline Ellingsen Wheeler, Ingeborg Dugstad Sanders, Anna Thu Schmidt and musicians Joel Vide Hynsjö (percussion), Kim Aksnes (trumpet), and Björn Guo (viola).

The event is held in English by dance artist Anna Thu Schmidt. Dance experience is not required! Musicians are very welcome to join and to bring their own instruments. It is a free event supported by Kulturdirektoratet, Trondheim Kommune, SpareBank 1 SMN, DansiT and HAVET.
